“The Politico” Article on Chemical Security Legislation

The Politico, a publication covering Congress, recently wrote an article describing the state of play on Capitol Hill regarding chemical facility security legislation.

Less than a year ago, Congress passed a comprehensive measure regulating chemical plants, refineries and other similar facilities. Despite this, some lawmakers are looking to rewrite the law.

“We are playing that ‘whack-a-mole’ game, where you see something pop up and try to whack it back down,” said Thomas Pyle, a lobbyist…who works on chemical safety for the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association.
